Removing older ".Net Framework" Installations?
In troubleshooting a minor graphics software problem, re-installation for my "legacy" graphics card package from ATI (http://support.amd.com/us/kbarticles/Pages/737-20870HowtoInstallYourATIProduct.aspx#sysreadyxp) advises "The CATALYST Control Center requires Microsoft .NET Framework prior to installation." This raised a question I've occasionally considered. I have 3 "Microsoft.net Framework" installations in "add/remove"..."2.0 Service Pack 2 (188 MB)", "3.0 Service Pack 2 (180 MB)" and the most recent "3.5 SP1 (29.17 MB)". This is an older computer and free HD space now barely hovers above the 14% required for defrag (WinXP Home). I'm looking to doing a bit of "cleanup" and I'm wondering if those 2 earlier "Framework" installations might be safely removed or are they required for whatever it is that ".Net Framework" does? Thanks1 person got this answerI do too

Looking into this a bit more, I've answered my own question. The graphics software control panel utilizes "Microsoft.NET Framework Version 2.0.50727.3603". I guess the older installations are here to stay.
